Onboarding Questionnaire & Discovery Call

We begin with a comprehensive onboarding questionnaire to gather key details about your project type, timeline, and budget. This helps us understand the scope of your project and ensures we’re aligned with your goals. Next, we move to a discovery call to explore your vision, lifestyle, and functional needs more deeply. During this call, we also explain our fee structure and set expectations for the project’s scope. Once we confirm compatibility, we’re ready to take the next steps together.

In-Home Design Consultation

Next, we schedule an in-home design consultation or a meeting at our studio to review your architect drawings. This is where we dive deeper into the specifics of your space and assess your needs.

Design Homework

We kick things off with design homework to help refine your vision and deepen our understanding of your preferences. This is an opportunity for our team to learn everything about you–from your aesthetic style to practical details like your lifestyle habits, entertainment preferences, and any other relevant details. We also discuss budget and expectations. As part of this, we also ask you to create a Pinterest board of images that inspire you—from a gorgeous hotel room to a personal item, like a favourite pair of shoes. Yes, we’ve even designed custom couch cushions based on a client’s love for a particular shoe! The more we learn about what resonates with you, the better we can tailor the design to reflect your personality and needs.

Trade Day

We love Trade Day! This is the day we meet with all the contractors, craftspeople, and vendors involved in bringing your new home to life. Whenever possible, we meet on-site to take detailed measurements, photos and videos of the space. If your home is still in the early stages and a site visit isn’t feasible, we host everyone at our studio for individual meetings. During these sessions, we review project plans, provide essential details, and gather information needed to ensure accurate estimates and confirm the feasibility of our ideas. Our team handles all the groundwork to ensure we can present a realistic design and budget to you in the next phase of the project. This collaborative approach allows us to create a seamless and well-informed process as we move forward with your project.

Conceptual Design & Budget Breakdown

With all this in hand, we present the initial conceptual designs as well as a budget breakdown. This is the first look at how your home will take shape, giving you a chance to review initial floor plans and material options. We’ll also provide a detailed budget that will be allocated across hard finishes like flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and lighting, and soft finishes like furniture, rugs, and decor. This is all to ensure that we are aligned from the start and make the most of your resources while keeping the design aligned with your vision.

Should you also hire our team for construction project management, we will also present an estimate for the construction costs at this time as well.

This presentation shows you how your home will take shape, with an opportunity to touch and feel samples of flooring, cabinetry, hardware, countertops, fabrics for drapery and furniture, and more. You will also receive the final floor plans, electrical plans, and any elevations or renderings for your millwork. It’s a transformative time when the vision for your home truly comes together.

Procurement & Installation
